Walnut Creek's Rahlves Resting After X Games Yard Sale

EastBayDaze saw Walnut Creek native and Winter Olympics hopeful Daron Rahlves take a nasty spill during X Game competition in Aspen this weekend. Word is that Rahlves, who now makes his home in Truckee, dislocated his right hip during a tough crash in a ski cross race.

Rahlves, 26, has already qualified for his fourth Olympics and was using the X Games as a final tune-up before making his way to Vancouver. He got sideways and crashed during competition Sunday and "yard saled" - skier's argot for crashing so mightily you leave all your belongings spread all over the hill. Doctors put the hip back in place and Rahlves' spokespeople say he will be good to go for the Olympics later this month.
